[16-20] In sy regterhand het Hy sewe sterre gehou. Die sterre is die leiers van die sewe gemeentes wat moes sorg dat dit in die gemeentes gaan soos Jesus dit wil hê. Uit sy mond het ’n swaard gekom. Dit was aan al twee kante vlymskerp. Waar sy oordeelswoorde moet sny, sal dit kan sny! En die oorwinning en glans op sy gesig - dit was soos die son wat op sy helderste skyn. Toe ek Hom sien, het ek so klein gevoel voor sy grootheid dat ek net daar voor Hom neergesak het. So magteloos soos die kleinste wurmpie het ek voor Hom bly lê. Hy kon met my maak wat Hy wou. Maar toe voel ek sy sterk regterhand op my en hoor Hom met my praat: “Moenie bang wees nie. Ek was voor die skepping al daar. En wanneer alles tot ’n einde kom, sal Ek nog daar wees. Ek is die Een wat leef, maar ook lewe kan gee. Ek het mos gesterf, maar lyk Ek vir jou dood? Nee, Ek leef: nie net nou nie, maar vir ewig en altyd. Ek het die sleutels wat die deur na die dood oop- en toesluit. Ek besluit wie bly dood en wie nie. “Toe, Johannes, skryf neer wat jy sien en ervaar. Jy sal dinge sien wat nou aan die gang is en dinge wat nog voorlê.”
