Amharic Gamo (ጋሞ ማጻፋ)
What Does This Mean?
This verse is from Paul to the Thessalonians. He urges them, in Jesus' name, to keep walking and living in a way that pleases God, just as they've learned from him. And he hopes they'll do even better.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're learning how to play a new game, and your coach tells you the rules. Now think about playing really well and making your coach proud! That's what Paul is asking the Thessalonians to do with their faith.
Historical Background
The Apostle Paul wrote this letter around AD 52 to the church in Thessalonica. The recipients were mostly gentiles who needed guidance on how to live out their new faith within a largely pagan city.
Living It Out Today
A young adult might use this verse as motivation when moving away from home for college, remembering to make choices that honor God and grow in their faith despite being surrounded by peer pressure and distractions.
