Jude 1:17
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
Jude is reminding believers to remember the teachings of Jesus' apostles. He wants them to recall what the apostles said in the past, as it can help guide and protect their faith.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a favorite teacher who always gives you good advice. Jude says that's like the apostles for us. They taught us lots of important things about Jesus, and we should remember those lessons to stay strong in our faith.
Historical Background
Jude wrote this letter (epistle) around AD 65-80 to early Christian believers. He was addressing a community facing false teachers. The cultural setting was one where the teachings of Christ were being distorted by some within the church.
Living It Out Today
In today’s world, remember to hold on to what you've learned from reliable sources about your faith, especially when misinformation is rampant. This could mean checking back on teachings or scriptures when faced with confusing new ideas in community groups.
