1 Peter 4:14
Amharic Bible (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (የብሉይና የሐዲስ ኪዳን መጻሕፍት))
What Does This Mean?
This verse from 1 Peter says that if you are insulted because of Jesus, consider it a blessing. The Holy Spirit is with you, and while people speak badly about Christ, He is being honored through your suffering.
Explained for Children
Imagine if your friend got made fun of for wearing their favorite superhero t-shirt. Instead of feeling sad, they should feel proud because the superhero is doing great things through them. That's how this verse says to feel when people make fun of you for believing in Jesus.
Historical Background
1 Peter was written by Simon Peter, one of Jesus' closest disciples, around 60-70 AD. The letter was addressed to Christians living in areas outside of Palestine who were facing persecution and suffering because of their faith.
Living It Out Today
Consider a scenario where you're working at a company that doesn't support your religious beliefs. If colleagues mock or isolate you for praying, remember this verse: the Spirit is with you, and through your endurance, Christ is being glorified in the workplace.
