Luke 11:14
Amharic Bible (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (የብሉይና የሐዲስ ኪዳን መጻሕፍት))
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Luke's Gospel, Jesus is casting out a demon that had made someone unable to speak. Once the demon was gone, the person could talk again, and everyone was amazed at what they saw.
Explained for Children
Imagine if you couldn't talk because something bad inside you kept your mouth shut. Then one day, a doctor comes and makes all the bad things go away, and suddenly you can speak again! That's what happened here with Jesus helping someone who could not talk before.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Luke was written by Luke, a companion of Paul, around 60-75 AD. It was intended for a broader audience, including Gentiles (non-Jews). This event took place during Jesus' ministry in Galilee where he performed many miracles to demonstrate his divine power.
Living It Out Today
In modern times, we can see this as an example of how God's help can restore what has been taken away by evil. For instance, if someone is struggling with depression or addiction, seeking spiritual guidance and support from the community might lead to healing and renewed hope.
