Matthew 15:23
Amharic Bible (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ (የብሉይና የሐዲስ ኪዳን መጻሕፍት))
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Matthew, Jesus doesn't respond to a woman who is asking for help. His disciples ask him to send her away because she won’t stop following them and crying out. The key message shows the persistence of faith in seeking help.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're trying really hard to get your friend's attention so they can share their snack with you, but they don't look at you. Your friend’s other friends tell him to ignore you because you won’t stop asking. But even though he doesn’t answer right away, it shows how much you want that snack!
Historical Background
Matthew wrote this around the late first century AD for a primarily Jewish-Christian audience. Jesus was traveling through different regions in Galilee and surrounding areas where he often encountered people seeking his help or attention.
Living It Out Today
In today's context, we can see this as an example of persistence in faith. Think about a time you had to keep asking for something important until it was granted. This teaches us not to give up even when our requests are initially ignored.
