فَأجَابَ إيلِيَّا قَائِدَ الخَمْسِينَ: «إنْ كُنْتُ أنَا رَجُلَ اللهِ، فَلْتَنْزِلْ نَارٌ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ وَتَقْضِ عَلَيْكَ أنْتَ وَرِجَالِكَ الخَمْسِينَ!» فَنَزَلَتْ مِنَ السَّمَاءِ نَارٌ وَقَضَتْ عَلَى القَائِدِ وَرِجَالِهِ الخَمْسِينَ.
