Psalms 106:23
Arabic 2018 (الترجمة الكاثوليكيّة (اليسوعيّة))
ما معنى هذا؟
In this verse, God is speaking about the Israelites and how He was ready to destroy them because of their disobedience. Moses, God's chosen leader, stood up and pleaded with God to show mercy and stop His anger from destroying the people.
شرح للأطفال
Imagine you're playing with your friends, and one of them gets really mad and wants to kick everyone out of the game. But then your best friend talks to that friend and convinces them to be nice and let everyone stay. That's kind of like what Moses did for God and the Israelites.
السياق التاريخي
The Book of Psalms was written by multiple authors, but Psalm 106 is traditionally attributed to David. It was written to remind the Israelites of God's faithfulness and their history of disobedience, warning them to stay faithful to God.
التطبيق اليوم
In modern times, this verse can remind us that when we make mistakes, there are people (like friends or family) who can intercede on our behalf, just as Moses did for the Israelites. This can apply to situations where we need someone to speak up for us or help us when we're in trouble.
