In this verse from Daniel chapter 9, Daniel prays to God, asking Him to listen and help because the temple is empty and desolate. He pleads for God's favor to shine upon it again.
شرح للأطفال
Imagine you have a favorite toy that got broken and put away in a box. You’re praying to your parents, asking them to fix it and let you play with it again so you can be happy. That’s like what Daniel is doing, but for something very important to God's people.
السياق التاريخي
The book of Daniel was written by the prophet Daniel around 605-530 BC during the Babylonian exile. This prayer came from a period when Jerusalem and its temple had been destroyed, and the Jews were in captivity, longing for restoration.
التطبيق اليوم
This verse encourages us to pray earnestly for the restoration of broken things in our lives or communities, whether they are relationships, buildings, or spiritual practices that have fallen into disuse. For instance, if a community center is neglected, we can pray for its revival and support efforts towards that end.
