This verse is God speaking to Shebna, asking why he has carved a tomb for himself in a high place. It shows God's disapproval of Shebna's pride and self-importance.
Imagine if you built a big, fancy treehouse because you thought you were really important. That's kind of what Shebna did, and God wasn't happy about it because He wants us to be humble.
Isaiah wrote this around 700 BC. He was addressing Shebna, an important official in Jerusalem. This was a time when leaders often built elaborate tombs to show their power and importance.
Today, this verse reminds us not to boast about our positions or wealth. For example, if someone brags about their new car or house just to show off, it can remind us to focus on humility and service instead.
