وَاحْتَفَلَ بَنُو إسْرائِيلَ فِي القُدسِ بِعيدِ الخُبزِ غَيْرِ المُختَمِرِ سَبعَةَ أيّامٍ بفَرَحٍ غامِرٍ. وَكانَ الَّلاوِيُّونَ وَالكَهَنَةُ يُسَبِّحُونَ اللهَ كُلَّ يَومٍ بكُلِّ قُوَّتِهِمْ.
