Luke 12:44
Awadhi
What Does This Mean?
This verse says that Jesus promises to give a position of great responsibility and authority to someone who is faithful in handling smaller tasks. He will make this person responsible for all he has.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a friend who always does their chores without being asked. Your dad might say, 'You know what? Since you're so good at taking care of your room and feeding the dog, I'll let you help plan our family picnic.' That's kind of like what Jesus is saying here.
Historical Background
This verse comes from Luke's Gospel, written by a doctor and historian to Greeks around 60-85 AD. It was aimed at both Jews and Gentiles to show that faithfulness in small things leads to greater responsibilities.
Living It Out Today
Imagine you are diligent with your work duties, showing up on time and doing tasks well. Your boss notices this and gives you more responsibility, perhaps managing a team or overseeing projects.
