Für Kinder erklärt
Imagine you're playing a game where one team is chasing another team. In this case, the Babylonians are the chasing team, and Zedekiah and his friends are the ones being chased. God is telling us that the chasing team will catch the others and take them away.
Historischer Hintergrund
Jeremiah, the prophet, wrote this around 588 BCE. The audience was the people of Judah, who were facing the threat of the Babylonian army. This was a critical period when Judah was about to fall to the Babylonians, leading to the exile.
