German TKW (Textbibel von Kautzsch und Weizsäcker)
Würdet ihr aber die Bewohner des Landes nicht vor euch austreiben, so werden die, die ihr von ihnen übrig laßt, zu Dornen in euren Augen und zu Stacheln in euren Seiten werden und werden euch bedrängen in dem Land, in dem ihr euren Wohnsitz habt;
Was bedeutet das?

Für Kinder erklärt
Imagine you have a garden, and there are weeds you don't remove. These weeds will grow and make your garden not fun anymore. This verse is like saying, if you don't take out the weeds (the people in the land), they'll cause you trouble, just like weeds in your garden.
Historischer Hintergrund
Numbers 33 was written by Moses around 1400 BC. It's part of the Israelites' journey and instructions from God about the Promised Land. The audience was the Israelites about to enter Canaan, a land with many existing peoples.
