Jeremiah 37:5
German (Die Heilige Schrift (Schlachter 1951))
Was bedeutet das?
This verse tells us that when Pharaoh's army came from Egypt, the Chaldeans who were attacking Jerusalem left because they heard about the approaching Egyptian army. It shows how military actions can change quickly based on new threats.
Für Kinder erklärt
Imagine you're playing a game of tag, and suddenly your friend who was chasing you sees another friend coming to help you. They decide to run away instead of chasing you anymore. That's kind of what happened here with the Chaldeans and the Egyptians.
Historischer Hintergrund
Jeremiah, the prophet, wrote this during the Babylonian siege of Jerusalem in the late 7th century BCE. The Babylonians (Chaldeans) were trying to conquer Jerusalem, but when they heard the Egyptian army was coming, they left to deal with the bigger threat.
Anwendung für heute
In our daily lives, we sometimes change our plans when we face new challenges or threats. Like if you were planning to go to a friend's house, but then heard there might be a storm, you might decide to stay home instead.
