1 Corinthians 11:22
Estonian EEP
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from 1 Corinthians, Paul is questioning why the believers are eating and drinking at church when they have their own houses for meals. He suggests that they might be showing disrespect to the poor members of the congregation by focusing on personal gain instead of unity.
Explained for Children
Imagine you’re having a birthday party and all your friends come over, but some only care about eating lots of cake while others don’t get any. Paul is saying it’s not nice to do that at church; we should share with everyone!
Historical Background
The letter was written by the Apostle Paul around 53-54 AD to the Christians in Corinth. The city had a diverse culture, and the church there faced many social issues, including divisions over meals.
Living It Out Today
Today, if we see that some people are left out during gatherings or events because of their socio-economic status, it's important to ensure everyone feels included and valued. We should not prioritize our own comfort at the expense of others.
