Luke 10:22
Estonian EEP
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Luke's Gospel, Jesus is speaking and explaining that everything has been given to him by his Father. He also mentions that only the Father knows who he truly is, and only he knows the Father. This knowledge can be revealed to others through Jesus.
Explained for Children
Imagine if you had a really special friend who told you all about their family. You know everything about them because they shared it with you. That's what this verse means: Jesus knows all about his family, and he shares that knowledge with us.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Luke was written by the evangelist Luke in around AD 80-100 for a broader Gentile audience, including those not familiar with Jewish customs. This passage reflects the early Christian understanding of Jesus' divine nature and authority.
Living It Out Today
Consider a situation where you are trying to understand someone deeply. Just like how only the Son knows the Father fully in this verse, sometimes we need others to help us understand complex relationships or ideas better.
