Luke 4:35
Estonian EEP
What Does This Mean?
In Luke 4:35, Jesus tells a demon to leave a person's body. He commands the demon to stop and come out without hurting anyone. This shows Jesus' authority over evil spirits.
Explained for Children
Imagine you have a bully in your classroom who is making everyone scared. Then, a really brave teacher comes in and says, 'Stop bullying and go away!' The bully has no choice but to listen. That's what happened here: Jesus was the brave teacher who told the bad guy (the demon) to stop bothering people.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Luke was written by Dr. Luke, a companion of Paul, around AD 60-80 for Gentile readers. This passage reflects early Christian experiences with demonic possession and Jesus' role as healer in first-century Jewish culture.
Living It Out Today
Consider a time when you felt controlled by negative thoughts or behaviors. Just like Jesus commanded the demon to leave, we can ask God to take away these harmful influences from our lives through prayer and faith.
