Mark 4:2
Estonian EEP
What Does This Mean?
This verse tells us that Jesus taught people using parables. He used stories to explain important lessons. Jesus was speaking and teaching these parables to help others understand.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're learning about plants, but instead of just telling you facts, your teacher tells you a story about a little seed growing into a big tree. That's what Jesus did - he used stories to teach important lessons!
Historical Background
Mark wrote this gospel in the late first century AD for a predominantly Gentile audience. The cultural setting was one of Roman rule and Jewish religious practices, where storytelling (parables) was an effective teaching method.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, you can use stories to explain complex ideas or lessons to others. For example, if you're trying to teach your younger sibling about saving money, you might tell them a story about a character who learns the importance of not spending all their allowance at once.
