What Does This Mean?
Jesus is telling his disciples that some of them will see the power of God's kingdom before they die. He promises a powerful manifestation for those present.

Imagine you and your friends are at the playground, and someone tells you that soon, something amazing will happen right there. Jesus told his friends that something big and wonderful from God would happen while some of them were still alive.
Historical Background
Mark wrote this account in Greek sometime around AD 65-70 for a predominantly Gentile audience. The setting is Galilee, where Jesus is addressing his disciples about the coming kingdom of God.
Living It Out Today
In today’s world, we can look at this verse and apply it to times when things seem hopeless or mundane. Just like the disciples were promised an incredible event, we too can expect that God has something powerful in store for us if we keep our faith.
