Bildad de Chouha prit alors la parole: Insulté, Bildad refuse de se laisser prendre pour une bête. Sa lumière s'éteint, et sa flamme cesse de briller: ce sont des signes de mort (Prov 13.9 24.20). Il perdra bientôt sa force et ses projets finiront par le détruire.
