John 16:4
French (BDS) 2015 (La Bible du Semeur 2015)
Que signifie ce verset ?
In this verse from John's Gospel, Jesus is talking to his disciples about future events that will happen after he leaves them. He says these things now so they can remember later and understand what’s happening. This was not said earlier because Jesus did not want to worry them while he was with them.
Expliqué aux enfants
Imagine you're playing a game where your friend tells you some clues about the next level of the game before it starts. He does this so when you get there, you'll remember what he told you and know how to play better. That's like Jesus telling his friends things now, so they can use that knowledge later.
Contexte historique
John wrote this Gospel around 90 AD for a community of early Christians, many of whom may have been disciples or followers of the original twelve. The cultural setting is one where followers are preparing to face persecution and the absence of their teacher, Jesus.
Application pour aujourd'hui
If you're facing a difficult situation at school or work, remember that past experiences and advice from mentors can help guide your decisions now. Just as Jesus prepared his disciples for what was coming, so too can we find strength in remembering previous guidance.
