1 John 5:1
French (BFC) 1997 (Bible en Français Courant)
Que signifie ce verset ?
This verse from 1 John says that anyone who believes Jesus is the Christ (the Messiah) has a spiritual birth from God. It also teaches that if we love God, we will naturally love Jesus too. This message comes from John, one of Jesus' disciples.
Expliqué aux enfants
Imagine you have a new baby brother or sister. Your parents are so happy and they love this little one with all their hearts. If you love your parents, you'll also love the baby because it’s part of them too. In this verse, God is like the parent, Jesus is like the child, and when we believe in Jesus, we become part of God's family.
Contexte historique
The letter was written by John around AD 90 to Christian communities who were facing false teachings about Jesus. He wrote to remind them of their true faith and to encourage them against these false beliefs. The culture of the time was deeply influenced by Greek philosophy, which sometimes mixed with Jewish beliefs.
Application pour aujourd'hui
Imagine you are a new parent trying to instill values in your child. You believe strongly that honesty is important, so you teach your child about honesty. If your child believes what you teach and starts living honestly, it shows they really love and trust you. Similarly, believing Jesus is the Christ shows our faith and love for God.
