Ezekiel 23:39
French (La Sainte Bible par Louis Segond 1910)
Que signifie ce verset ?
This verse from Ezekiel tells us that people were sacrificing their children to idols, and then they would come to the temple to worship God, which was wrong and disrespectful. God is speaking here and is upset about this behavior.
Expliqué aux enfants
Imagine if your friend did something very bad, like breaking a toy, and then came to play with your favorite toy right after. It would feel weird and wrong, right? That's how God felt when people did bad things and then came to His house to pretend they were good.
Contexte historique
Ezekiel wrote this during the Babylonian exile, around 593 BC. He was addressing the Israelites who had been taken from their homeland and were living in Babylon. The Israelites were worshiping other gods and sacrificing their children, which was a common practice in some cultures at that time.
Application pour aujourd'hui
Today, we can see this as a warning against hypocrisy. It's like if someone cheated at work and then came to church and acted like they were perfect. We must be honest and sincere in our actions and beliefs.
