Exodus 10:28
Hebrew
What Does This Mean?
In this verse, Pharaoh is telling Moses to leave and warns him that if he sees Moses again, he will be killed. This shows Pharaoh's anger and fear of Moses and the power of God.
Explained for Children
Imagine your friend gets really mad at you and tells you never to come to their house again, or they'll be so upset that they can't handle it. That's kind of like what Pharaoh is doing with Moses, but in a much more serious way.
Historical Background
The book of Exodus was written by Moses around 1446 BC. It was written to remind the Israelites of God's power and His promise to deliver them from slavery in Egypt. The cultural setting was one of struggle and hardship for the Israelites, under the harsh rule of Pharaoh.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse can remind us to respect boundaries and the consequences of our actions. For example, if a friend tells you they don't want to see you anymore, it's important to respect their feelings and give them space.
