Semua imam yang ada di situ, dari semua kelompok, telah mempersiapkan diri untuk upacara itu. Semua penyanyi dan pemain musik dalam suku Lewi, yaitu Asaf, Heman, Yedutun dan seluruh anggota kaum mereka, memakai pakaian dari kain lenan. Orang-orang Lewi itu berdiri di sebelah timur mezbah dengan memegang simbal dan kecapi. Bersama mereka ada 120 orang imam yang meniup trompet. Nyanyian para biduan berpadu dengan iringan musik trompet, simbal dan alat musik lain. Inilah kata-kata pujian yang mereka nyanyikan untuk TUHAN: "Pujilah TUHAN, sebab Ia baik. Kasih-Nya kekal abadi." Pada waktu para imam keluar dari Rumah TUHAN itu, tiba-tiba Rumah itu penuh dengan cahaya kehadiran TUHAN, sehingga mereka tidak dapat meneruskan upacara ibadah.
