Explained for Children
Imagine you're opening gifts on your birthday. Each gift is wrapped with a special sticker. When Jesus takes off the first sticker, an angel asks everyone to gather around because something exciting and new is about to happen!
Historical Background
The book of Revelation was written by John, likely in his old age, to encourage persecuted Christians. It describes visions he had while exiled on Patmos island. The audience was facing challenges like persecution and false teachings.
Living It Out Today
When we face difficult times, just like the early Christians did, this verse reminds us that God is still in control and has a plan. In our modern context, it can encourage someone going through tough times to remain hopeful and open to seeing what God will do next.
