그러자 가레아 의 아들 요하난 은 비밀히 미스바 에서 그달리야 에게 이렇게 말하였다. “제가 가서 느다니야 의 아들 이스마엘 을 아무도 모르게 죽이겠습니다. 만일 그가 총독님의 목숨을 빼앗으면, 총독님께로 모여든 유다 백성은 모두 흩어지고, 그나마 유다 에 살아남은 사람들은 깡그리 멸망하고 말 것입니다.”
