Deuteronomy 28:32
Lithuanian (KBV) (Biblija. Senasis Testamentas. Naujasis Testamentas)
What Does This Mean?
This verse from Deuteronomy warns that your children will be taken away by another people, and you will desperately long for them, unable to do anything to change the situation. Moses is speaking, warning the Israelites of the consequences of disobeying God.
Explained for Children
Imagine if your toys were taken away, and you couldn't play with them anymore. You would feel really sad and miss them a lot, but you wouldn't be able to get them back. That's what this verse is talking about, but with children instead of toys.
Historical Background
Moses wrote this during the Israelites' wandering in the wilderness, around 1200 BC. He was speaking to the Israelites, reminding them of God's covenant and warning them of the consequences if they disobeyed.
Living It Out Today
Today, we might see this as a warning about the consequences of our actions. If a parent neglects their children due to addiction or other issues, the result can be a loss of the relationship, a deep longing, and a feeling of helplessness.
