Joshua 8:25
Tshiluba Bible (Mukanda wa Nzambi Dihungila Dikulukulu ne Dihungila Dihia-dihia 2003)
What Does This Mean?
This verse from Joshua tells us that twelve thousand men and women from the city of Ai were killed on that day. It's part of the larger story of Joshua leading the Israelites into the Promised Land.
Explained for Children
Imagine a big playground where all the kids were playing a game, but some kids weren't playing nicely. Joshua and his friends had to stop the bad behavior, and sadly, many kids had to leave the playground. This is like that, but for grown-ups.
Historical Background
The book of Joshua was written by Joshua or later authors to record the conquest of Canaan by the Israelites. It was written for the Israelites to remember their history and the faithfulness of God.
Living It Out Today
Today, we can think about this as a reminder of the consequences of our actions. Just as the people of Ai faced consequences for their actions, we must consider the impact of our choices.
