Galatians 3:28
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
This verse from Galatians says that in Christ Jesus, there is no difference between Jews and Greeks, slaves and free people, or men and women because everyone is equal in God's eyes. The Apostle Paul wrote this to emphasize unity and equality among Christians.
Explained for Children
Imagine you're playing a game with your friends where everyone wears the same color t-shirt. In this verse, Jesus is like that game where we all wear the same 't-shirt' of being His followers, so no one feels left out or different because of how they look or what job they do.
Historical Background
Paul wrote Galatians around AD 48 to churches in southern Turkey. He addressed a diverse group of new believers who were debating whether Gentiles (non-Jews) needed to follow Jewish laws to be Christian. The cultural setting was one where social hierarchies and religious distinctions were deeply ingrained.
Living It Out Today
In today's world, this verse can apply when someone feels excluded or judged based on their background. For example, if a woman is not given equal opportunities in her workplace, she can remember that according to Christ’s teachings, all people are equally valued.
