Hosea 9:12
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Hosea, God is speaking and says that even though the people will have children, He will take them away. This means there won't be anyone left among them when God leaves.
Explained for Children
Imagine you build a big sandcastle with your friends, but then a sudden wave comes and washes it all away. That's kind of what God is saying here: even though the people have families, He will take everything away if they don't listen to Him.
Historical Background
The verse is part of Hosea's prophecy written around 750-725 BC. It was directed at the Northern Kingdom of Israel, who were being punished for their unfaithfulness to God.
Living It Out Today
Today, if we ignore God and continue in our wrong ways, just like those people in the verse, we may face severe consequences in our lives, affecting even future generations.
