Matthew 25:36
Ndebele Bible - 2010
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Matthew's Gospel, Jesus is speaking and talks about how he was helped when he was naked, sick, or in prison. The key message is that helping others in need means you are also helping Jesus.
Explained for Children
Imagine a friend who got lost in the woods. You find them cold and hungry. Helping your friend with food and clothes is like helping Jesus himself. Jesus says we should always be there for each other when they're in trouble or sick.
Historical Background
Matthew, one of Jesus' disciples, wrote this Gospel around 80-90 AD. The audience was primarily Jewish Christians who needed reminders about Jesus’ teachings on compassion and service to others.
Living It Out Today
Today, if you see someone without proper clothes in the cold or a friend who is sick, offering them help like warm clothes or visiting them shows love and care just as Jesus taught us to do. It could be something as simple as bringing soup to a neighbor with the flu.
