Explained for Children
Imagine you're at a birthday party with lots of candles lit up to make the room bright and warm. Now picture someone special, like your best friend, standing right in the middle of all those lights, dressed in a fancy robe with a shiny belt. That's what John saw, but it was Jesus!
Historical Background
Revelation is written by John, one of Jesus' disciples, around AD 95 to encourage and instruct early Christian churches facing persecution. The vision described here reflects the importance of Jesus’ presence in their midst.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse reminds us that Jesus is always present with His church, no matter how difficult our circumstances might be. Just like a lighthouse guiding ships through stormy seas, we can trust Jesus to guide and protect us as well.
