Derramaram o seu sangue como água por toda a Jerusalém e ninguém lhes pôde dar sepultura.

Tornámo-nos motivo de escárnio para as nações vizinhas; os que nos rodeiam riem-se e zombam de nós.

Até quando, Senhor, estarás indignado? Será o teu ciúme como um fogo abrasador?

Descarrega a tua ira sobre os povos e reinos pagãos, que não te conhecem nem te invocam!

Porque eles mataram o teu povo e transformaram o país em ruínas.

Não nos faças pagar pelas faltas dos nossos antepassados; que a tua misericórdia venha depressa ao nosso encontro, porque chegámos ao fim das nossas forças!

Socorre-nos, ó Deus, nosso salvador; livra-nos e perdoa os nossos pecados, pela tua glória e o teu bom nome!

Por que hão de perguntar os pagãos: «Onde está o teu Deus?» Mostra a essa gente, diante dos nossos olhos, que a morte dos teus servos não fica sem vingança!

Cheguem aos teus ouvidos os gemidos dos presos e, com o teu grande poder, salva a vida dos que estão condenados à morte.

Retribui às nações vizinhas sete vezes mais as ofensas que te fizeram, Senhor.

Nós, que somos teu povo e ovelhas do teu rebanho, glorificar-te-emos para sempre, cantaremos os teus louvores por todos os séculos!
