A ti compete vingar o mal, ó Senhor! Cumpre a tua missão, ó Deus!

Levanta-te, ó juiz do mundo, e dá aos soberbos o castigo que merecem!
3
Quanto tempo ainda se alegrarão, Senhor, quanto tempo se alegrarão os que praticam o mal?
4
Todos esses malfeitores são insolentes, cheios de soberba e gabam-se do mal.
5
Eles esmagam o teu povo, Senhor, espezinham aqueles que te pertencem.
6
Matam as viúvas e os estrangeiros, e assassinam os órfãos.
7
Eles dizem: «O Senhor não nos vê; o Deus de Jacob não dá por isso!»
8
Ó insensatos, quando é que aprendem? Ó gente louca, quando serão capazes de entender?
9
Deus, que fez os ouvidos, não ouvirá? Ele, que fez os olhos, não verá?
10
Aquele que corrige as nações, não os castigará? Pois se é ele quem dá aos homens o conhecimento!
11
O Senhor conhece os pensamentos dos homens; ele sabe que eles só pensam futilidades.
12
Senhor, que feliz é aquele a quem tu repreendes, aquele a quem ensinas a tua lei;
13
esse terá descanso nos dias maus, enquanto se abre a cova para o que pratica o mal.
14
O Senhor não abandonará o seu povo; ele não desamparará aqueles que são seus.
15
De novo voltará a haver justiça e todo o homem honrado a seguirá.
16
Quem estará comigo contra os malfeitores? Quem estará do meu lado contra os que praticam o mal?
17
Um pouco mais e eu estaria na prisão da morte, se o Senhor não me tivesse ajudado.
18
Mas eu disse: «Os meus pés vacilam!» E o teu amor, Senhor, veio logo amparar-me.
19
As preocupações avolumam-se na minha mente, mas o teu conforto alivia-me.
20
Poderá aliar-se contigo o juiz injusto que forja a miséria à custa do direito?
21
Eles atentam contra a vida dos justos e condenam os inocentes.
22
Mas o Senhor é o meu alto refúgio; o meu Deus é a rocha que me protege.
23
O Senhor fará recair sobre eles os seus crimes, e destruí-los-á com a sua própria maldade. O Senhor, nosso Deus, os destruirá!
