Mark 11:15
Sindhi Bible (Hindu) (Hindu Sindhi New Testament © The Pakistan Bible Society, 2022) - پوِتر شاستر يسوع مسيح جي خوشخبري
What Does This Mean?
In this verse from Mark, Jesus arrives at the temple in Jerusalem and starts removing people who were buying and selling items there. He turns over tables used for money exchanges and seats where doves were sold.
Explained for Children
Imagine a playground where kids are supposed to play, but some grown-ups come and start running a lemonade stand. Jesus came to the temple, which was like God's special playground, and he removed all these stands so that people could use it for its real purpose, just like how you want your playground to be a place for fun, not business.
Historical Background
The Gospel of Mark, written around AD 60-70 by John Mark under Peter's guidance, is aimed at non-Jewish Christians. The temple in Jerusalem was a central site for Jewish worship and trade, where people exchanged money and bought animals for sacrifices.
Living It Out Today
Today, this verse reminds us to keep our personal spaces and activities focused on their true purpose. For example, if you're studying but your phone keeps distracting you with games or messages, it's important to remove those distractions just as Jesus removed the commercial activity from the temple.
