Zbormajstrovi. Dávidov. Žalm. Boh mojej chvály, nemlč,

lebo sa otvorili proti mne bezbožné a ľstivé ústa. Hovorili proti mne lživým jazykom.
3
Zasypali ma slovami nenávisti, bez príčiny bojujú proti mne.
4
Za lásku sa mi odplácajú nepriateľstvom, kým ja sa modlím.
5
Za dobré sa mi odplácajú zlým a nenávisťou za lásku.
6
Ustanov nad ním bezbožníka, žalobca nech mu stojí po pravici!
7
Nech ho súd uzná vinným, nech je hriechom jeho modlitba.
8
Jeho dní nech je čím menej, jeho úrad nech prevezme iný.
9
Jeho synovia nech osirejú, jeho žena nech ovdovie.
10
Jeho synovia nech sa potulujú a žobrú, nech zo svojich rumovísk chodia prosiť.
11
Nech ho veriteľ pripraví o všetko, čo má, nech cudzí ulúpia, čo s námahou získal.
12
Nech mu nikto nezachová priazeň, nech sa nikto nezmiluje nad jeho sirotami.
13
Nech je vyplienené jeho potomstvo, nech je ich meno vytreté už v druhom pokolení.
14
Nech sa vina jeho otcov pripomína Hospodinovi, hriech jeho matky nech nie je vymazaný.
15
Nech ich má Hospodin stále pred očami, nech ich pamiatku vyhladí zo zeme,
16
pretože nepamätal na skutky lásky, prenasledoval úbožiaka a chudáka v snahe usmrtiť človeka skrúšeného srdca.
17
Rád vyslovoval kliatbu — nech dopadne naňho! Nedožičil požehnanie — nech sa vzdiali od neho!
18
Obliekal si kliatbu ako odev, nech vnikne do neho ako voda, ako olej do jeho kostí.
19
Nech mu je odevom, do ktorého sa halí, opaskom, ktorým sa stále opasuje.
20
Toto nech je odplata od Hospodina mojim protivníkom, tým, čo zle hovoria proti mne.
21
Ty však, Hospodin, Pán, vytrhni ma pre česť svojho mena a nalož so mnou podľa dobroty svojej milosti,
22
lebo som úbohý, chudobný a srdce mám zranené.
23
Musím odísť ako tieň, ktorý sa predlžuje, som ako strasená kobylka.
24
Kolená sa mi podlamujú od pôstu, z tela sa mi vytratil tuk.
25
Som im na posmech, hľadia na mňa a potriasajú hlavou.
26
Pomôž mi, Hospodin, môj Boh! Zachráň ma podľa svojho milosrdenstva!
27
Nech zvedia, že to bola tvoja ruka, že si to urobil ty, Hospodin.
28
Oni nech preklínajú — ty však žehnaj! Povstanú a zahanbia sa, tvoj služobník sa však bude radovať.
29
Nech si moji žalobníci oblečú potupu, nech ich ako plášť halí hanba.
30
Veľmi budem ďakovať Hospodinovi svojimi ústami, medzi mnohými ho budem chváliť,
31
lebo chudobnému stojí po pravici, aby ho zachránil pred tými, čo ho súdia.
