Zbormajstrovi. Dávidov. Žalm. Hospodin, ty ma skúmaš a poznáš.

Ty vieš o mne, či si sadám a či vstávam, i môj zámer zďaleka poznáš.

Ty pozoruješ, či chodím, či ležím, o všetkých mojich cestách vieš.
4
Ešte nemám slovo na jazyku a ty, Hospodin, už vieš, čo chcem povedať.
5
Obkľučuješ ma zo všetkých strán, svoju ruku kladieš na mňa.
6
Žasnem nad tvojím poznaním, je privysoko, nedosiahnem ho.
7
Kam by som odišiel pred tvojím Duchom, kam by som utiekol pred tvojou tvárou?
8
Keby som vystúpil na nebesia, si tam, keby som si ustlal v ríši mŕtvych, si tam.
9
Keby som mal krídla rannej zory a usadil by som sa pri najvzdialenejšom mori,
10
aj ta by ma priviedla tvoja ruka a tvoja pravica by sa ma ujala.
11
Keby som povedal: Možno ma skryje tma, ale aj noc bude svetlom vôkol mňa,
12
veď nijaká tma nie je dosť tmavá; noc ti svieti ako deň, tma ti je sťa svetlo.
13
Veď ty si mi utvoril ľadviny, v matkinom živote si ma utkal.
14
Ďakujem ti, že si ma predivne utvoril; tvoje skutky sú obdivuhodné, to si veľmi dobre uvedomujem.
15
Moje kosti neboli skryté pred tebou, keď som vznikal v skrytosti, utkávaný v najspodnejších častiach zeme.
16
Tvoje oči ma videli už v zárodku, všetko to bolo zapísané v tvojej knihe; dni boli určené, skôr než ktorýkoľvek z nich nastal.

Ako si vážim tvoje myšlienky, Bože, aký nesmierny je ich počet.
18
Keby som ich mal spočítať, bolo by ich ako piesku. Len čo sa zobudím, som s tebou.
19
Kiežby si, Bože, zabil bezbožníka! Vzdiaľte sa odo mňa, krvilační muži!
20
Tí sa na teba ľstivo odvolávajú a zneužívajú tvoje meno.
21
Hospodin, nemám azda nenávidieť tých, čo teba nenávidia? N emám si vari sprotiviť tých, čo povstávajú proti tebe?
22
Nenávidím ich, naskrze ich nenávidím, stali sa mi nepriateľmi.
23
Skúmaj ma, Bože, a poznaj moje srdce, skúšaj ma a poznaj moje zmýšľanie!
24
Hľaď, či som na ceste trápenia a veď ma cestou večnosti!
