Dávidov žalm. Hospodin, počuj moju modlitbu, počúvaj moje úpenlivé prosby, odpovedz mi pre svoju pravdu, pre svoju spravodlivosť.

Nesúď sa so svojím služobníkom; veď pred tebou nikto zo živých nie je spravodlivý.
3
Nepriateľ ma prenasleduje, môj život zráža k zemi, do temnôt ma posadil ako tých, čo dávno zomreli.
4
Duch môj chradne, srdce mi tuhne.
5
Myslím na zašlé dni, rozjímam o všetkých tvojich skutkoch, uvažujem o diele tvojich rúk.

K tebe vystieram svoje ruky; moja duša túži po tebe ako zem po vode. — Sela —

Čím skôr mi odpovedz, Hospodin, duch môj ochabuje; neskrývaj svoju tvár predo mnou, aby som sa nepodobal tým, čo zostupujú do hrobu.

Hneď zrána mi prejav svoju milosť, lebo v teba dúfam. Daj mi poznať cestu, ktorou mám ísť, lebo k tebe pozdvihujem svoju dušu.

Osloboď ma od mojich nepriateľov, Hospodin, u teba hľadám útočisko.
10
Nauč ma plniť tvoju vôľu, veď ty si môj Boh. Kiež ma tvoj dobrý duch vedie po rovnej zemi.
11
Hospodin, pre svoje meno zachováš ma nažive, pre svoju spravodlivosť ma vyvedieš z úzkosti.
12
Pre svoju milosť zničíš mojich nepriateľov, odstrániš všetkých, čo ma sužujú, veď som tvoj služobník.
