Psalm, Asafov. Gospod Bog je spregovoril in poklical zemljo od sončnega vzhoda do zahoda.

S Siona, sijajne lepote, se je Bog zasvetil:

naš Bog prihaja in ne molči. Užigajoč ogenj gre pred njim, nevihta divja krog njega.

Kliče nebesa od zgoraj in zemljo, da bo sodil svoje ljudstvo:

»Zberite mi moje svete, ki so z daritvijo sklenili mojo zavezo!«

In nebesa oznanjajo njegovo pravičnost; zakaj Bog sam je sodnik.
7
»Poslušaj, moje ljudstvo, govoril bom, o Izrael, zoper tebe bom pričal: Bog, tvoj Bog sem jaz.
8
Zaradi tvojih daritev te ne grajam, saj tvoje žgalne daritve so vedno pred menoj.
9
Ne jemljem iz tvoje hiše telička, ne kozlov iz tvojih čred.
10
Zakaj moje so vse zveri v gozdovih, tisočere živali na mojih gorah.
11
Poznam vse ptice pod nebom, in kar se giblje po polju, mi je znano.
12
Ko bi bil lačen, bi ne govoril tebi: moj je namreč svet in kar ga napolnjuje.
13
Mar jem meso volôv ali pijem kri kozlov?
14
Daruj Bogu hvalno daritev in spolnjuj Najvišjemu svoje zaobljube!
15
In kliči me ob dnevu stiske: rešil te bom, in me boš častil!«

Grešniku pa Bog govori: »Kaj naštevaš moje zapovedi in jemlješ mojo zavezo v svoja usta?
17
Ti, ki sovražiš strahovanje in si moje besede mečeš za hrbet!
18
Če si videl tatu, si z njim tekel in s prešuštniki si se družil.
19
Svoja usta si odpiral za hudobijo in tvoj jezik je spletal prevare.
20
Sedel si in zoper svojega brata govoril, sina svoje matere zasramoval.
21
To si delal in jaz bi naj molčal? Si mislil, da sem kakor ti? Grajam te in ti to stavim pred oči.
22
Razumite to, vi, ki pozabljate Boga, da vas ne zagrabim in vas nihče ne reši!
23
Kdor daruje hvalno daritev, me časti, in kdor prav ravna, mu pokažem božje zveličanje.«
