Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, niokoe, kutoka kwa watu waovu; nilinde na watu wenye jeuri,

ambao hupanga mipango mibaya mioyoni mwao, na kuchochea vita siku zote.

Wao hufanya ndimi zao kali kama za nyoka, sumu ya nyoka iko midomoni mwao.

Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, niepushe na mikono ya waovu; nilinde na watu wenye jeuri wanaopanga kunikwaza miguu yangu.

Wenye kiburi wameficha mtego wa kuninasa, wametandaza kamba za wavu wao, wametega mitego kwenye njia yangu.

Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, ninakuambia, “Wewe ni Mungu wangu.” Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, usikie kilio changu na kunihurumia.

Ee Bwana Mungu Mwenyezi, Mwokozi wangu mwenye nguvu, unikingaye kichwa changu siku ya vita:

Ee Mwenyezi Mungu, usiwape waovu matakwa yao, usiache mipango yao ikafanikiwa, wasije wakajisifu.

Vichwa vya wanaonizunguka vifunikwe na shida zilizosababishwa na midomo yao.
10
Makaa ya mawe ya moto na yawaangukie! Na watupwe motoni, katika mashimo ya matope, wasiinuke tena kamwe.
11
Wasingiziaji wasifanikiwe katika nchi; maafa na yawawinde watu wenye jeuri.
12
Najua kwamba Mwenyezi Mungu huwapatia maskini haki, na kuitegemeza njia ya mhitaji.
13
Hakika wenye haki watalisifu jina lako, na waadilifu wataishi mbele zako.
