Kwa nini, ee Mungu, umetutupa kabisa? Mbona hasira yako inawaka dhidi ya kondoo wako!

Kumbuka jumuiya yako uliyojipatia tangu kale, kabila ulilolikomboa liwe mali yako, kumbuka mlima Siyoni mahali unapokaa.
3
Pita juu ya magofu haya ya kudumu! Adui wameharibu kila kitu hekaluni.
4
Maadui zako wamenguruma ushindi hekaluni mwako! Wameweka humo bendera zao za ushindi!
5
Wanafanana na mtema kuni, anayekata miti kwa shoka lake.
6
Waliivunjavunja milango ya hekalu, kwa mashoka na nyundo zao.
7
Walichoma moto patakatifu pako; walikufuru mahali pale unapoheshimiwa.
8
Walipania kutuangamiza sote pamoja; walichoma kila mahali tulipokutania kukuabudu nchini.
9
Hatuzioni tena ishara zetu takatifu, hatuna tena nabii yeyote! Hata hatujui yatakuwa hivi hadi lini!
10
Mpaka lini, ee Mungu, adui atakucheka? Je, watalikufuru jina lako milele?
11
Mbona umeuficha mkono wako? Kwa nini hunyoshi mkono wako?
12
Hata hivyo wewe Mungu ni mfalme wetu tangu kale; umefanya makuu ya wokovu katika nchi.
13
Kwa enzi yako kuu uliigawa bahari; uliviponda vichwa vya majoka ya bahari.
14
Wewe uliviponda vichwa vya dude Lewiyathani; ukawapa wanyama wa jangwani mzoga wake.
15
Wewe umefanya chemchemi na vijito; na kuikausha mito mikubwa.
16
Mchana ni wako na usiku ni wako; umeweka mwezi na jua mahali pao.
17
Wewe umeweka mipaka yote ya dunia; umepanga majira ya kiangazi na ya baridi.
18
Kumbuka, ee Mwenyezi-Mungu, madharau ya maadui zako; taifa pumbavu linalikashifu jina lako. Sisi ni dhaifu kama njiwa.
19
Usiwatupie wanyama wakali uhai wa wapenzi wako; usiyasahau maisha ya maskini wako.
20
Ulikumbuke agano ulilofanya nasi! Nchi imejaa uharamia kila mahali pa giza.
21
Usiwaache wanaokandamizwa waaibishwe, uwajalie maskini na wahitaji walisifu jina lako.
22
Inuka, ee Mungu, ukajitetee; ukumbuke wanavyokudharau kila siku watu wasiokujua.
23
Usisahau makelele za maadui zako; na ghasia za daima za wapinzani wako.
