Wewe Bwana, nimekukimbilia, sitapatwa na soni kale na kale.

Mungu wangu, niponye mikononi mwao wasiokucha! Namo mikononi mwao wapotovu namo mwao wakorofi!

Kwani wewe Bwana Mungu, u kingojeo changu, u kimbilio langu tangu hapo, nilipokuwa mtoto.
6
Nimejishikiza kwako tangu hapo, nilipozaliwa, wewe ndiwe uliyenitoa tumboni mwa mama yangu; ninakushangilia siku zote.
7
Kwao wengi ni kama kielekezo, wakiniona, nawe ndiwe kimbilio langu lenye nguvu.
8
Kinywa changu kinazidi kukushangilia, siku zote huutangaza utukufu wako.
9
Siku, nitakapokuwa mzee, usinitupe, nguvu yangu itakapoishia, usiniache!
10
Kwani wachukivu wangu wamekwisha kusema, nao wanaoingoja roho yangu wamekula njama pamoja:

Mungu amemwacha; mkimbizeni, mmkamate! Kwani hakuna tena atakayemwopoa.
12
Wewe Mungu, usiniendee mbali! Mungu wangu, piga mbio, unisaidie!
13
Sharti wapatwe na soni, sharti waangamie wao waliotakia mabaya roho yangu. Sharti wajifunike kwa kutwezwa wakiumbuka waliotafuta mabaya ya kunifanyizia.
14
Lakini mimi nitangoja siku zote pamoja na kufuliza kukupigia shangwe vivyo hivyo.
15
Kinywa changu kitayasimulia mambo ya wongofu wako na kuutangaza wokovu wako siku zote, kwani sijui kuyahesabu, kama ni mangapi.
16
Ninaendelea bado kwa nguvu za Bwana Mungu zilizo kuu, ninayowakumbusha si mengine, ni wongofu wako tu.
17
Mungu, ulinifundisha tangu hapo, nilipokuwa mtoto; kwa hiyo ninayatangaza mataajabu yako.
18
Sasa napo hapo, nitakapokuwa mzee mwenye mvi, usiniache, Mungu, niwatangazie vizazi vingi kazi za mkono wako nayo matendo yako yenye nguvu kwao wote watakaokuwapo.
19
Wongofu wako, Mungu, unakua kufika hata mbinguni, wewe ndiwe ufanyaye mambo makuu. Mungu, afananaye na wewe yuko nani?
20
Wewe ulipotuacha, tuliona masongano mengi na mabaya; lakini utaturudisha tena, utupatie uzima, utatutoa huko ndani ya nchi, utuweke juu yake.
21
Ukuu, utakaonipa, utazidi, utakaponigeukia, unitulize moyo.
22
Nami nitakushukuru na kukupigia pango kwa welekevu wako, Mungu wangu, nitakuimbia na kupiga zeze, wewe Mtakatifu wa Isiraeli.
23
Midomo yangu inashangilia, kwa hiyo ninakuimbia, roho yangu inashangilia nayo, kwa maana umeikomboa.
24
Nao ulimi wangu unausimulia wongofu wako mchana kutwa, kwani waliotafuta mabaya ya kunifanyizia huiva nyuso kwa soni.
