Đức Chúa Trời sai một thiên sứ đến tiêu diệt Giê-ru-sa-lem, nhưng khi thiên sứ sắp sửa tiêu diệt thành, CHÚA nhìn thấy và thương hại về tai họa đã xảy ra. Ngài phán với vị thiên sứ hủy diệt, “Đủ rồi! Hãy ngừng tay ngươi lại.” Lúc bấy giờ thiên sứ của CHÚA đang đứng tại sân đập lúa của Ọt-nan người Giê-bu-si.
