“我的哀怨至今依然悲苦，但我尽力不大放悲声。

但愿我知道在哪里能找到上帝，好让我能到他的宝座前，

陈述我的冤情，据理力辩。

我要知道上帝的回答，我要弄清他对我所说的话的含义。
6
他会用他的大能压制我吗？ 不！对我的话他会认真听取。
7
在那里，正直的人可以跟他平等争论，我必能洗雪我的案情。

我寻遍东南西北，看不见上帝的踪影。

但上帝洞悉我所行的路，他在考验我，他会看到我纯正如金。

我追寻他的脚步，谨守他的道路，从来没有过丝毫背离；

我遵从他的命令，牢记他的教诲，比要求于我的更珍惜他的话语。

然而，上帝的意志无可更改，他按他所决定的施行。
14
他要实行对我的判决，还有很多针对我的计划要陆续实行。

我被上帝所惊骇，越想越怕；

他使我胆战心惊，失魂落魄。

然而，尽管灾祸象阴沉的黑云扑面而来，它不能使我沉默不语。
