In die jaar dat Tartan in Asdod aangekom het, toe Sargon, die koning van Assirië, hom gestuur het, en teen Asdod geveg en dit ingeneem het;

In dieselfde tyd het die HERE gespreek deur Jesaja, die seun van Amos, en gesê: Gaan maak die roukleed van jou heupe af en trek jou skoen van jou voet af. En hy het dit gedoen, naak en kaalvoet.

En die HERE het gesê: Soos my kneg Jesaja drie jaar lank naak en kaalvoet gewandel het tot 'n teken en wonder oor Egipte en Kus;
4
So sal die koning van Assirië die Egiptenaars, gevangenes, en die Kusiete as gevangenes weglei, jonk en oud, naak en kaalvoet, ja, met hul boude ontbloot, tot die skande van Egipte.
5
En hulle sal bang en beskaamd wees vir Kus wat hulle verwag het, en vir Egipte hulle heerlikheid.
6
En die inwoners van hierdie eiland sal in dié dag sê: Kyk, so is ons verwagting waarheen ons vlug vir hulp om verlos te word van die koning van Assirië; en hoe sal ons ontvlug?
