Ek roep hardop tot God. Ek roep hardop tot God om na my te luister!

In my nood soek ek die Here. Ook in die nag strek ek onvermoeid my hande uit in gebed. Tog het ek geen troos gekry nie.

Ek dink aan God, en ek sug, ek peins daaroor en is moedeloos. Sela

U verhinder dat ek slaap; van ontsteltenis kan ek nie praat nie!

Ek dink aan die dae van vroeër, aan jare van lank gelede,
7
toe ek gesing het in die nag, nagedink het oor sake. Dan vra ek my af in my binneste:

Het die Here my vir altyd verwerp? Sal Hy ooit weer sy genade bewys?
9
Het sy troue liefde vir altyd verdwyn? Het sy beloftes tot ’n einde gekom?
10
Het God sy medelye vergeet? Het Hy in toorn sy simpatie onttrek? Sela
11
Ek het gesê: “Dit is my droefheid: dat die Allerhoogste nie optree soos Hy voorheen gedoen het nie.”
12
Here, ek onthou wat U gedoen het, ja, ek onthou u wonderlike dade van destyds.
13
U dade bly in my gedagtes. Al u werke wil ek bepeins.
14
O God, u weë is heilig. Is daar enige god so magtig soos U?
15
U is die God wat wonders doen! U het u mag aan die nasies getoon.
16
Deur u mag het U u volk gered, die nageslag van Jakob en Josef. Sela
17
Toe die waters U sien, o God, toe hulle U sien, het hulle gebewe, selfs die diepsee het gesidder.
18
Die wolke het reën neergestort, die donderslae het gerammel, u weerligpyle het oral geblits.
19
U donder het gebulder in die storm; weerligstrale het die wêreld verlig! Die aarde het gebewe en geskud.
20
U pad loop deur die see, u weg was deur magtige waters, maar u spoor kon niemand sien nie.
21
Soos ’n kudde het U u volk gelei; Moses en Aäron was hulle herders.
