Genesis 3:23
Amharic Catholic Version (መጽሐፍ ቅዱስ - (ካቶሊካዊ እትም - ኤማሁስ))
What Does This Mean?
This verse tells us that God sent Adam out of the Garden of Eden because Adam and Eve disobeyed God. God made Adam leave to work the land from which he was made. This shows the consequences of disobedience.
Explained for Children
Imagine you made a mistake and got in trouble. Just like that, Adam and Eve made a big mistake, so God asked them to leave their beautiful home in the garden. Now, they had to work hard on the land, like growing their own food, to learn from their mistake.
Historical Background
Genesis was written by Moses around 1446-1406 BC. The audience was the Israelites, and it was meant to remind them of their origins and the covenant with God. The cultural setting includes the Mesopotamian and Near Eastern context of creation myths and the notion of divine judgment.
Living It Out Today
Think about a time when you had to leave a comfortable situation because of a mistake. Maybe you had to move to a new school after a misunderstanding. This verse reminds us that our choices have consequences, and sometimes we need to face challenges to grow.
