Colossians 2:5
Amharic Tigrinya 2011
What Does This Mean?
This verse is from Paul to the Colossians. He says he's physically away but spiritually present with them, happy about their order and strong faith in Christ.
Explained for Children
Imagine your friend is far away at a summer camp, but they send you a message saying they can 'see' how well you're doing at home by the good choices you make. That’s like what Paul is saying here!
Historical Background
Paul wrote this letter around AD 60-62 from Rome to the church in Colossae, a city in modern-day Turkey. He was concerned about their spiritual growth and wanted them to know he cared even though he couldn't be there physically.
Living It Out Today
Think of a time when you were homesick or away on vacation. Even if your family wasn't with you, they could see how well you're doing by the choices you make and feel happy about it, just like Paul feels about his spiritual children in Colossae.
